The Gold Anchor award scheme is a voluntary assessment programme focused on customer service and providing Quality Assured Berthing for any boat owner. |

The scheme is designed for the marina consumer by The Yacht Harbour Association with contribution from the RYA. With 23 years experience of Gold Anchor standards, this is a point of reference for all boat owners to make an informed decision on where to berth.
Ratings range from one to five gold anchors. Any award issued is a sure sign of a credible and quality marina with the number of anchors indicating the facilities and services available to berth holders.
Stage One - The Assessment
A comprehensive set of criteria that is checked and surveyed by an assessor.
Stage Two - Mystery Shop
A mystery shopper will visit the marina in the period between the application and the Gold Anchors being awarded. The results contribute to the final Gold Anchor rating.
Stage Three - Berth Holders Questionnaire
Berth holders are invited to complete an anonymous online questionnaire. With a minimum of 5% response, the results go directly to TYHA and contribute to the final Gold Anchor rating.
The Final Result
Concluding all three stages and compiling all scores the TYHA Gold Anchor panel consider all relevant information and an award is assigned according to the score achieved. The award is valid for three years during which the marina will undergo a further 2 mystery shops, the results of which will be used to recalculate the gold anchor rating.
